Diet or exercise, which matters more for weight loss?

Diet matters more than exercise for weight loss because the energy you take in (diet) needs to be less than the energy put out (including exercise). You can argue that eating 500 kcal/d LESS *or* exercising 500 kcal/d MORE results in the same weight loss, and you would be correct. Except, we’re human beings. We like things easy. It turns out, eating 500 kcal/d LESS is much easier than exercising
